SHES Care Services
Sweet Home Elderly Services will provide the following client services. However, the provision of these services must be based on the client's individual plan of care. Each service to be provided will be individualized and given to the Personal Care Aide on the assignment sheet. Only services designated on the assignment sheet should be provided.

Important Things to Remember:
All services will be provided by qualified personnel.

- Light housekeeping examples include: On a daily basis, this means that along with meal preparation, the client can expect dishes required for their meal will be cleared away, washed and put back in the cupboard; bath being drawn and towels set out for their use; after their bath that towels and wash cloths will be hung up to dry or put in the laundry; the bathroom will be cleaned after they have used it, including the sinks, shower/tub, toilet, countertop and mirrors. This may also include watering plants, dusting of surfaces and knickknacks, emptying the trash, vacuuming, and sweeping of main walk areas, and picking up newspapers, magazines and other clutter.

- Cooking and Meal Preparation examples include cooking meals that are requested by the client's or warming and serving the foods that have been previously prepared and refrigerated, per the client's request.

- Sweet Home Elderly Services staff are not authorized to clip or cut client finger or toe nails, remove hangnails, or perform any other aspects of nail care. The only exception would be the use of an emery board. If requested, the Personal Care Aide may use an emery board to smooth nails or to remove sharp nail edges. If performed, document on the assignment sheet.

- Medication assistance includes ancillary aid to ensure the client is able to take their medication as prescribed. Assistance may include reminders to take medication, assistance opening medication containers, and retrieving and returning medication containers to their storage areas. This does not include the administration of medication, either parentally, via inhalation, ingestion, or by any other means. This also excludes calculating or adjusting medication doses, crushing, dissolving, or otherwise altering the form of any medication.

- At the beginning of the client's enrollment, a Registered Nurse is available to visit the client in his/her home to evaluate the client's needs and wellbeing. Throughout continuity of care, the Registered Nurse will periodically visit the client's home to assess the Personal Care Aide to ensure all proper care is being provided.
